What a wonderful time spent in Maui this last week shooting the events leading up to and the wedding of Antonio Pierce and Jocelyn Maldonado. They're an amazing couple. He is starting MLB for the NY Giants, she is a model and sportscaster for the Mets. The event coordinator was the fantastic David Tutera. Check out his site for more information. I couldn't do him justice here. Suffice to say that all the events were spectacular and unique. Wailea Maui is beautiful! The first night was a great luau at Feast at Le Le in Lahaina with food from various parts of Polynesia and some awesome performers. The next night was a most incredible all white party at the Old Haiku Mill, Some amazing visuals with decor designed by David and his staff. The next day was a private brunch atHumuhumunukunukuapua'a restaurant at the Grand Wailea Resort. the wedding was Saturday at a dream venue, Hoku Lani Private Estate, right on the water at sunset. The bride and groom looked stunning in the lush tropical setting. Thanks to Jane at First Class Weddings for a beautiful venue to shoot in. A reception followed at the Haleakala Ballroom at Grand Wailea.

The other evening I had a great time shooting with Viv and Shane for their engagement photos. They are getting married in August at Grand Tradition in Fallbrook California. They are such an easy couple to shoot and you could just feel the love!
I had the great honor to be the exclusive photographer for an amazing wedding last Saturday:
- The Location:
Union Station Los Angeles, an amazing art deco style building that was transformed into an awesome location for a wedding and reception.
- The Couple:
Lisa Ling, correspondent for the Oprah Winfrey Show and National Geographic Channel.
Paul Song, one of the top oncologists in the country, based in Chicago.
It truly was an honor and priviledge to be there. The groom's sister, Ann Song, was responsible for getting me involved. She is the VP Creative and Fashion Director for Modern Luxury, publishers of Angeleno Magazine, among others. There is an exclusive agreement with InStyle magazine to do a feature story on the wedding so images are being limited until then. The initial press release was posted online at People magazine's website.
The image released so far.
Check back for photos when I can release them.
Mercedes Benz Fashion Week: LA @ Smashbox Studios was once again a great time. I've been shooting the event for quite a while now and it is always good to see fellow photographers and shoot the runway once again. In 5 days I shot 21 shows as well as some backstage. Robin and I got a rare date night (the boys were in good hands) and went to be with some good friends at The Roxy in Hollywood. The occasion was a birthday party for "Perez Hilton" - a gossip powerhouse of a guy. The entertainment was 4 different bands - with guest performances by the likes of Dave Navarro and others. The headline event was a performance by the legendary Dita Von Teese in an amazing costume, birdcage, feathers and beauty. It was a little strange to not be shooting officially but nevertheless I don't go anywhere without my point-and-shoot. Some quick shots:
Way back in 1995 I had the great pleasure of meeting my beautiful wife Robin. We were introduced by a mutual friend - Dita Von Teese. Over the years Dita has gone on to become world famous - stage performances worldwide, spokesmodel for MAC Glam cosmetics, clothed by the top fashion designers in the world. Robin went on to be my precious bride and the mother of three great sons. They have stayed close friends and last Wednesday Robin got a call to join Dita in a girls day out.
The day was being filmed for CNN's "The Scene" featuring celebrities favorite places to visit.
They started the day with a helicopter ride to Catalina Island.
(notice the cameraman in the background on his cellphone)
The highlight was getting a private tour of the Avalon Casino ballroom.
They then rode the ferry back to Long beach and got to board the Queen Mary for an exclusive look at some of the features of that great ship. They were treated to a viewing of Winston Churchill's stateroom and of The Queen's Salon.
It was a great day out for Robin and well deserved as she works so hard raising the kids and putting up with me.
When she got home I couldn't resist shooting a couple even though she was tired from the days filming.
